Pretentious Jacks is pleased to announce the release of "Skronat" our debut album with Redfella Records, on September 15, 2011 in the banquet hall at Upfront & Co. More details are available under the Dates tab. The CD should be for sale online shortly after. Keep a look out everybody!

As you can see from the web page updates, we've decided to change our name to Pretentious Jacks! In honor of the nearly 3 years we spent playing as Skronat, we'll be titling our debut release under Redfella Records "Skronat". It's set to release this September 15th, so start saving up kids.

Skronatics,

Within the next few weeks, we will be finalizing our album. We're approaching the last few studio-sessions. Nearly 12 months ago we began writing, recording, re-recording, mixing, re-mixing, scraping, and evolving all of our songs. This April, the process will finally be out of our hands. We only have  two or three more sessions for vocals & guitar solos, and from there we leave it to the engineers to mix and master. You all have been incredibly patient, and we can't wait to release this album.

The album features many guest musicians and we have a lot of people to thank in the entire recording process. This was truly a community effort, and we really appreciate all who were involved.... our liner-notes and credits will be extensive!

We have shows coming up, many confirmed, others will be soon. We love playing live and can't wait to schedule more shows throughout this summer. We're also thinking about a blitzkrieg campus-hop for the fall... NMU, LSSU, Grand Valley, Ferris, Western, State, UofM, Ohio, Chicago, Milwaukee, Madison, Greenbay, Michigan Tech and back home. We're trying hard to get to a town near you, and bring you throb-rock LIVE! For now, our attention is on finishing up our album.

So, as always, stay tuned. Catch a show, and thank you for your continued support!

Throb-rock on!

-Skronat

We've been silent for quite some time now. Well rest assured, we haven't fallen off the face of the earth. In fact, that's quite impossible. The earth is round, just ask Christopher Columbus or the nearest science nerd, Sir Dennis A. Farney. Tracking is going well and is expected to be completed soon. We are patiently and meticulously crafting a Throb-Rock sequel poised to change your life, FOREVER. Look for song samples to be posted on the site in the coming weeks. So have patience Skronat followers. Dale Earnhardt Jr. didn't invent the wheel in one day. Like every great technological breakthrough, Throb-Rock shall be re-invented in due time.

On behalf of Skronat, I’d like to congratulate Sore on Sunday for their recent addition to the ticket this Friday at the State Fair to open for Everclear. I’d also like to commend Driver and Hollow, as well as their fans, for a valiant effort. The UP clearly has a great number of passionate local music followers. Lastly, a thank you to the fans of Skronat who have voted here below. Without your support this opportunity would not have been possible.

Skronat's first, independently released album, The Boots I Want, is now available for purchase HERE. The group is working on a new full-length, and copies of the Boots I want are limited, so hurry!

Skronat: The Boots I Want

Yesterday’s radio appearance went great. Sunny 101.9’s Work-Day Wind Down was great for announcing the new record deal. Thanks, Chrissy! Redfella Records is sending out press kits to radio station program directors today and the band is looking forward to the upcoming media coverage.

Attn: Media Organizations,

Press releases and media advisories may be requested through Redfella Records by e-mailing MattBullock@RedfellaRecords.com. We are always adding to our media contact list and we’re happy to provide you press material in numerous desirable formats.

Journalists and reporters are encouraged to schedule interviews with Redfella Records CEO, Andrew Lorinser and Skronat for a more in-depth look at this newly formed alliance. Redfella’s decision to invest in Skronat is far too considerable to detail in a 1 page media alert. Please contact Redfella at 906.226.7331, we’d love to explain the significance of this partnership.

Selective Upper Peninsula radio station program directors will receive media kits for radio air-play. For all of you eager skronanatics, please refrain from over-zealously requesting Skronat songs until we post a list of stations willing to keep Skronat in regular rotation. Small market radio stations are more likely to respond negatively to over-requested local music, demand Skronat… but, please, only in moderation.

Currently, Skronat only has available tangible samples of press material. We are working on an EPK (Electronic Press Kit) that will enable all media outlets equal access to the band. Stay tuned!

Attn: U.P. radio listeners: Tune into Sunny 101.9 today around 3:30pm / 4:00pm for more on Skronat's exclusive record deal with Redfella Records. Live on-air interview with the band, and a preview of 'She Get's Me High' off their debut independent release, 'The Boots I Want!'
