Pretentious Jacks - Throb Rock

Pretentious Jacks is a four-piece band that has fueled the heart of Michigan's Upper Peninsula with lively party rock and captivating, high-energy rock shows. Though the band members and their fans have taken to the term "Throb Rock,” Pretentious Jacks' sound can be best described as "Sublime on steroids meets the Foo Fighters, with a dash of Sly and the Family Stone." The collaboration of Cameron Leedle on guitar, Steve Gustafson on guitar and vocals, Ryan Gleason on bass guitar, and Dennis Farney behind the drums has dominated the music scene in Marquette, MI.

In spring of 2010, the band signed with Marquette indie label, Redfella Records. Together, the band and the label worked on bringing Pretentious Jacks' vision of classic hard rock infused with funk, jazz, and an appreciation for all forms of classical music. The result of nearly 13 months of working, reworking, writing, rewriting, and recording lead the band to their 2011 full-length release, Skronat. Redfella and Skronat have switched their focus for next year to booking shows, meeting fans, and promoting the new album across the Midwest and the continental U.S.
